George Kakarontzas

Welcome

I am a Professor at the Digital Systems Department of the University of Thessaly in Greece. The majority of my research work is in the area of software engineering with an emphasis on software architecture, software components and agile methods for object-oriented development. I also worked on applications of software architecture in various areas such as distributed systems and grids, smart cities, human resource competence assessment systems as well as learning support systems. Some research projects in these areas include the OPEN-SME FP7 project, the ComProFITS project and the COMALAT project .

I am a graduate of the Informatics department of the Athens University of Business and Economics and I have a Master of Science in Object-Oriented Software Technology with Distinction from the University of Brighton, UK and a PhD with Distinction from the Informatics depratment of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Quality Assurance of Component-Based Software Systems.
